What is a camera network?
A camera network is a way to organize your cameras into groups. Your networks can be whatever you want– at a minimum, we recommend putting all your cameras into one network. You can control access to networks instead of individual cameras, saving you time and increasing your organization security.
Only ALI Admins can create new networks and change permissions of existing networks.
Camera network types
When you view your camera networks, you’ll see that you can filter by "Shared Networks," "Shared with Me," and "Private Networks."
- Shared Networks can be joined by other ALI organizations. Other organizations can see that the network exists, but can't view any information in your network until you approve their request to join.
- Private Networks are only visible to your organization and cannot be joined by any outside organizations.
- "Shared with me" Networks are outside networks that your organization has joined. Once another organization approves your request to join, you can view and search license plates from their cameras. Additionally, if you have any items on your hot list that are captured by a shared network, your organization will receive an alert.
